2022: Ending the Year Well
4 numbered blocks with 2023 and an index finger pointing to 3
This will be the last post from me before the New Year. As the year draws to a close, I wanted to end with 3 things: an appreciation, a review of the topics I have covered this year in the event you want some holiday reading, and an invitation that I hope will help you end your year well.
I want to thank each one of you who has engaged with me this year, inspired me through our work together or our email interchanges or WhatsApp chats. You make the work I do for a living a great blessing, and this ripples out to others as I too learn and grow through our connection and engagement. It is also makes what I write about and share so much easier!
Through the year I have traversed various topics connected to personal mastery and leadership. All the topics surfaced from real life challenges of the clients I work with in my practice.
We started the year with the power of clarity in various areas of life to unlock mastery. Imposter Syndrome was a favourite post during the year as many resources and articles resonated with readers. A topic close to my heart, the work we do, was the feature of the next two posts. The first challenged you to define your own Career Success Criteria and the other helped you think about how to make Career Decisions through the ABC model (authenticity, balance, and challenge). Following the personal benefits of a month-long retreat in nature, I deep dived into the scientific support for the power of nature on mental and emotional wellbeing. This was one of the most popular newsletters of the year and was followed up by a challenge and suggestions from a reader to get into action to protect our natural world for future generations. The theme of procrastination seemed appropriate as we came to year end with so much crying out for our attention. I am delighted that many of you have found value in what I share with you. I am also grateful for the feedback on the newsletters you take time to share with me. As we come to the end of the year, and if you would like to offer me other feedback you can do so here with suggestions you have for topics you would like me to cover in the leadership and personal mastery space, or what you want more of and less of in what you are currently receiving. Whilst I will be taking time off over the Southern Hemisphere summer holiday, I look forward to reviewing your feedback early in the New Year.
Finally, the invitation to end your year well. I am a fan of PYR (Past Year Reviews) over New Year’s Resolutions. Tim Ferris offers a short and sharp approach that I am sure will resonate with many of you Forget News Resolutions and Conduct a Past Year Review
With my blessings and well wishes to each of you and those dearest to you.
